Sandy,

Thanks for sharing the idea.

It's funny you should bring this idea up because I've just read Joe Sugarman's "Success Forces". And in that he talks about the guy who had 250,000 "Pop 'n' Twist" toys to sell. Which Sugarman renamed to Tenny Bopper or something.

The deal was, Joe would get 10,000 of them to use in promotional testing. If it went ok, he could keep the profits from those, and the profits from the remaining 240,000 would be split.

So Joe had a product he didn't have to pay for, which he could market directly to the public. And the reason was, the supplier didn't know how to market it.

And I'd see THAT is the biggest opportunity. Solving the product owner's problem of getting sales. Usually because they don't know how to sell the thing they have.

A new set of eyes looking at the opportunity from a different angle, could see the solution. It could almost be like finder's fees. If you did it yourself. Like how Joe Karbo on-sold the oversupply of boxes he came across.

But your idea has that extra twist... those who want to find such products would simply log into the website and there would be a list of "availables".

YOu could offer free advertising for those with products to offload and charge membership for those looking for products to on-sell to someone in some way. Even a small $5 - $10 a month could make some comfort money with a 100 or so subscribers. And you can really enjoy the fantasy imagining 1,000 subscribers.
