You make very valid points Michael. I don't think I'll ever start such a service either.
But the idea fascinates me. The human psyche angle is interesting.
Reminds me of Robert Ringer and P.T. Barnum.
Robert Ringer always takes along 2-3 secretaries with him wherever he goes. Many of the times, these many secretaries are not even needed, but it makes him look IMPORTANT.
P.T. Barnum said something like "a crowd attracts a crowd." He used to use similar techniques to get tons of people to his museum.
