Google Adwords Tip #2 (This one's an important one!)

Google Adwords Tips #2
Sorry about the delay in writing this second "installment"... Things got hectic there for a while...
Okay, on to the "good stuff"!
First, this "tip" I think is the most important of the ones I know. It's a tip that helped to bring my positive returns from about 50% return, to around 400% return for one of my projects...
What I mean by that is, I went from spending $1 on ads and making back $1.50, to spending $1 on ads and making back $4....
The essence of the idea is...
Create an opt-in list! Here's exactly what I mean...
Often people using Google Adwords just advertise their product sales page. If a person clicks on their ad, and goes to their sales page, but DOESN'T buy, they've LOST that customer FOREVER!
Instead, send them to an "opt-in" page for your targeted list. That is, give them an incentive to get your regular "tips" on whatever topic your product is related to...
For example, let's say you're promoting a product related to gardening. You can create a weekly gardening tips list, where you send out a weekly gardening tip. Now, with your Google Ads, send them to a page where they sign up for your gardening tips list - for free!
You'll get a much higher "response" rate than for a sales page. Instead of a 1% typical sales response rate, I've gotten 40% response rates, of people signing up for my list.
The strength of this idea is that - now, you can market to them repeatedly. Along with your tips, you can also include short ads and promotions about your products, or even promote related affiliate products. Or, you can even make the occasional "special announcement".
Personally, I use an autoresponder to send out the notices for me on a regular basis. I use Aweber http://www.aweber.com, though I've also heard that Autoresponse Plus http://www.autoresponseplus.com is very good too.
(With Aweber, you pay a monthly fee, and everything is handled on their web site. With Autoresponse Plus, you only pay once, and install their software on YOUR web site.)
It takes a little bit of work to set this up... After all, you have to write tips that will be sent out to subscribers, and so on. But you can make MUCH more in sales...
There's a common figure bandied about, that the average customer doesn't buy from you until they've been exposed to your offer 7 TIMES. Now, I don't know how accurate that particular figure is, but it's definitely true that the more exposures someone has to your offer, the more likely it is they will buy. So using this idea turns your Google Adwords marketing from a one-shot "Do or Die" attempt to make a sale - to a "multiple-shot" way to making sales, where you get one try, and another, and another... and so on, as long as they stay subscribed!
So - if you're advertising on Google Adwords - try this idea out. Most likely, you'll make more money back using this method, than you will with the "one shot" sales approach. And using this method can turn a money-losing Google Adwords campaign, into a money-making one.
